Drug Arrest
On Friday, January 9, at approximately 5: 35 pm, Patrolman Lawrence Anthes checked on a vehicle in the parking lot of Stewarts Root Beer on Main Street while the business was closed. During the encounter, Ptl. Anthes discovered that Lauren O’Neil, age 18, of Clinton Township, was in possession of three (3) bags of heroin, one (1) bag of cocaine, a hypodermic syringe, and a prescription bottle in someone else’s name containing Saboxone and other unidentified pills. Ptl. Anthes also discovered that Kristen Hahn, age 26, of Pittstown, was in possession of two (2) bags of heroin, several used bags of heroin, and a hypodermic syringe. Both were arrested. Ms. O’Neil was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Cocaine, Unlawful Possession of a Prescription Legend Drug, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Ms. Hahn was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both were released ROR. Lieutenant Ryan Melsky and Sergeant Thomas DeRosa assisted.
Marijuana Possession
On Friday, January 9, at approximately 9:45 pm, Patrolman Drew MacQueen stopped a vehicle operated by Gregory Martin, age 24, of Bethlehem, PA on Route 78 West for speeding and because the vehicle’s registration had expired. During the stop, Ptl. MacQueen observed a marijuana “blunt†on the passenger’s side floor of the vehicle. Ptl. MacQueen also learned that Mr. Martin had a $133.xx warrant for his arrest out of Lopatcong Township. As a result, Ptl. MacQueen arrested Mr. Martin and charged him with Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Driving An Expired Vehicle, Careless Driving, and Speeding. He was released ROR.
Methamphetamine Arrest
On Friday, January 9, at approximately 11:58 pm, Patrolman Joseph SanGiovanni stopped a vehicle operated by Daniel Tidwell, age 24, of New York, NY after Mr. Tidwell drove into the opposing lane while attempting to turn left from Route 173 onto Center Street. During the stop, Ptl. SanGiovanni discovered a small amount of methamphetamine, three meth pipes, and a straw with residue. As a result, Mr. Tidwell was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Careless Driving. Bail was set at $5,000.xx. Mr. Tidwell was transported to the Hunterdon County Jail in default.
Driving While Intoxicated
On Saturday, January 10, at approximately 2:00 am, Patrolman Andrew McCluskey stopped a vehicle operated by Steven Rodier, age 21, of Stewartsville, on Route 31 South near Center Street. During the stop, Ptl. McCluskey detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Mr. Rodier’s breath and soon determined that he was intoxicated. Mr. Rodier was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was given a breath test to determine the content of alcohol in his blood. As a result, Ptl. McCluskey charged Mr. Rodier with Driving While Intoxicated, Failure To Maintain Lane, and Maintenance of Lamps.
On Sunday, January 11, at approximately 1:00 am, Patrolman Joseph SanGiovanni stopped a vehicle operated by Samantha Mazura, age 21, of Califon, after observing it traveling in a northern direction in the southbound lane. Ptl. SanGiovanni also observed that the vehicle appeared to have been involved in a crash. Upon approaching the vehicle, Ptl. SanGiovanni immediately detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Ms. Mazura’s breath and soon determined that she was intoxicated. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was given a breath test to determine the content of alcohol in her blood. As a result, Ptl. SanGiovanni charged Ms. Mazura with Driving While Intoxicated, Consuming an Alcoholic Beverage While Operating a Motor Vehicle, Opened Container, Reckless Driving, Leaving The Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash, Failure To Report a Motor Vehicle Crash, and Driving The Wrong Way On A Divided Highway. She was released to the custody of an acquaintance and her vehicle was towed from the scene. Passenger Christina Mazyk, age 20, of High Bridge was charged with Allowing An Intoxicated Driver To Operate a Vehicle, Underaged Consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage, Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle by Passenger, and Opened Container. She was released ROR.
Bar Fight
On Sunday, January 11, at approximately 4:15 pm, Patrolman John Tiger responded to Tiffany’s Bar and Grill on Route 31 North at Molasses Hill Road for a report of “about ten (10) Eagles fans fighting in the bar.†Upon arrival, Ptl. Tiger observed that the parties involved had already been separated. Cynthia Dight, age 52, of Clinton Township, advised that another patron had called her a vulgar name and that she responded by throwing a glass at the man. A scuffle then allegedly ensued. However, numerous witnesses advised officers that Ms. Dight and her companion had been obnoxious and loud from the moment they entered the establishment, claiming that there had been several verbal altercations prior to the incident. Ptl. Tiger further observed Ms. Dight to be both uncooperative and highly intoxicated. She was eventually cited for Disorderly Conduct and Obstruction of Justice and released ROR to the custody of a family member. Officers from Clinton Township, Readington Township, and Raritan Township responded to assist.

Motor Vehicle Crash
On Sunday, January 11, at approximately 2:15 pm, a 2007 Chevy Sedan operated by Ivette Hahs, age 32, of Stroudsburg, PA was traveling Route 31 North approaching Halstead Street when a 2001 Saab sedan operated by Diana Ortiz, age 19, of Port Jefferson Station, NY, which was also traveling Route 31 North, attempted to make a u-turn onto Route 31 South from the right lane. The two vehicles collided and the airbags in the Hahs vehicle deployed. Both had to be towed from the scene. A passenger in the Hahs vehicle, Elenda Trinidad, age 85, of Keansburg, NJ complained of minor pain but declined a transport to the hospital. Patrolman Matthew Murphy issued Ms. Ortiz a motor vehicle summons for Improper U-Turn.
The filing of criminal charges is merely one step in the process of determining a person’s guilt. All persons mentioned in this press release are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
