HCESC Names Student of the Year

Superintendent Dennis Cox with Arman Peco, Principal Eric Oestreich, School Counselor Sara Klejmont and his parents.

The Hunterdon County Educational Services Commission is proud to announce Arman Peco as their Outstanding Student of the 2009-2010 School Year. He has been recognized because of his academic performance, his strength of character and his commitment to his school, his family and his community.

Arman Peco and his family were honored at the Student Awards dinner held at the Hunterdon County Polytech Café in May 2010 through the Somerset Hunterdon Business Alliance and the Hunterdon County Department of Education.

Mr. Peco is a fine young man who understands the term responsibility. He is working a part-time job after school about 25 hours a week and still academically performs to his best ability. He is a staff favorite and is always willing to lend a smile to his peers or to offer advice that makes a compelling argument.

Arman is active outside of school in a soccer league and with his family. He enjoys taking vacations to his home country of Bosnia and looks forward to spending weekends with his friends clubbing. None of this interferes with his academics and his goals for the future.

Arman's attitude is second to none. His cooperative spirit and unique ability to work well as a team player have led him to many successes at school and in his community. He has volunteered his time for Hunterdon County Teen Arts and works with his classmates on community service activities through school based collaborations with Tewksbury Township Recreation Department.

Arman was able to select a teacher he wanted to recognize that supported his achievement for this award. He chose Michael Vergalito from the ESC Academy at Tewksbury.

Congratulations to both Arman and Mr. Vergalito.
