Revelation Generation gets underway

When: Jul 31, 2010 @ 1:00pm
Where: Connections Cafe

You thought that the big Revelation Generation festivities would be big this year. It will be. The annual event is set for two days this year--September 4 and 5 (Saturday and Sunday).

But it really begins Saturday, July 31, in Flemington.

Connections Cafe is hosting the Battle of the Bands in Turntable Junction beginning at 1 p.m. Ten local bands will compete to be included in the Revelation Generation event in September. Bands will be strutting their stuff through the afternoon, and you can vote for your favorite either in person or on the RevGen website. If you attend, there is a $10 admission that gets you an assigned seat, water or coffee, and a voting card.

RevGen, as the big event has become known, last year attracted some 30,000 people. This year it is a two-day affair spread over five stages with some 60 groups performing on September 4 and 5. Music will include rock and heavy metal, jazz, hip hop, Christian and folk music. Tickets can be purchased for either one or both days. The festival takes place at the Revelation Farm in Kingwood Township. For more information and tickets to the big September 2-day festival, go to www.RevGen.org.
