On Sunday, June 23, 2013 at approximately 0140 hours, Ptl. Steven Rindock stopped a vehicle for not having a properly functioning brake lamp. The vehicle was operated by Daniel Czekaj (age 33) of Fishers, IN.
During the motor vehicle stop, the officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. The officer had Daniel Czekaj perform a series of field sobriety test, which he failed.
Daniel Czekaj was arrested and charged with DWI, Refusal to Submit to breath testing, DWI with a minor in a motor vehicle, and failure to maintain lamps. Daniel Czekaj was released from police custody pending a future court appearance.
