Second Hand Wind Damages Property Next Door
When a new casino was going up in Atlantic City, no one could have predicted that a windstorm from the water would strip the roof off their neighbors apartment building.
But that is what happened. The damages were devastating.
The extreme height of the casino tower turned the high wind into a roiling power scrubber. And the roof next to the casino was virtually lifted, scrubbed right off leaving the residents with flooding conditions and high value damage.
The photos show some of the debris and water effects, laminate floors - ruined. Drywall and ceiling tiles and insulation - also ruined. And, if you have ever doubted the strength of latex paint, check out the photo of the wall paint holding a bubble of water.
Between the wind and the rain, the roof, interiors and even the brick parapet around the shorter building experienced a tremendous loss. The documentation of each part of the building and interior damage is noted and catalogued to evaluate the amount of the loss.
Complete damage surveys are extensive and take in every bit of damage including structure and contents. The estimates can number in the hundreds of pages and take up hours and hours of research.
Working with an experienced Licensed Public Adjuster is smart, and much better if your adjuster has extensive contracting experience. Your experience will be much more complete. Jeff Wagner is both of these and can recognize the subtle changes in walls and surfaces indicating more trouble and the best solutions for restoring the integrity of a finely built structure.
The reason to work with an experienced and licensed public adjuster is clear. Assets lost to fire, wind and water are mopped up, dried off and assessed. It takes a team to make sure that our clients are well-served.
Did you know that there are NO FEES unless the public adjuster gets your claims paid?
We welcome referrals. If you know of a property that has suffered from fire, water, winter weather or storm-related damages, call or email Jeff Wagner, Licensed Public Adjuster 267-265-5137.
