Food Services - Food Delivery Services
One thing that Meals on Wheels volunteers know is that their clients appreciate one thing more important than the food being delivered. They appreciate a friendly visitor and a smile.
For many homebound seniors who receive nutritious Meals on Wheels warm and cold meals, they receive few visitors and count it as a treat to have a friendly face stop in on a daily basis. For many of these older adults, they are the only person that the senior sees all week long.
Meals on Wheels volunteers who deliver meals are invaluable to check in on the seniors. Volunteers are able to identify other needs that a senior has, offer a joke or words of encouragement and volunteers have even saved clients' lives by alerting help during a medical emergency. For these reasons, Meals on Wheels provides peace of mind to family members of senoirs too.
Meals on Wheels knows how valuable their services are to their clients. That is also why in addition to home delivered meals they offer pet food services to clients (Ani-Meals), grocery shopping service, and the listening ears service.
