Opening Reception, Thursday, November 6, 6 to 9 p.m.
BETHLEHEM, PA (October 30, 2014) - The Fall Exhibit at Bethlehem House Contemporary Art Gallery, November 6 to January 11th, will feature the artwork of Thomas John Shillea, Khalil Allaik,Erin Anderson, Vivian Fishbone, David Sommers, and Jessica Bastidas. Also, Functional Art by Doug Kozo; Furniture, by Stephen Metz; and Jewelry by Staci Louise Smith.
The artist's reception will be held Thursday, November 6, 6 to 9 p.m. The gallery is located at 459 Main Street, Bethlehem, PA.
Bethlehem House Contemporary Art Gallery specializes in both emerging and established regional artists, and provides original, innovative art in a variety of contemporary styles for a variety of household budgets.
In partnership with The Olympus InVision Photo Festival, Bethlehem House Contemporary Art Gallery is also featuring two photo exhibits and an artist's lecture of photographer Thomas John Shillea.
Shillea is noted for his expertise in silver, platinum, and platinotype process photography. The Olympus InVision Photo Exhibit will sweep the Lehigh Valley with photography exhibits, lectures and workshops throughout the month of November.
Collections of Shillea's photographs reside in the Smithsonian Museum's National Portrait Gallery, and also in the collections of major art museums and universities such as the George Eastman House, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The National Museum of African American History and Culture (The Smithsonian), the Baltimore Museum of Art, The Rochester Institute of Technology, The James A. Michener Museum of Art, The Johnson-Matthey Collection (London, England) and Lehigh University, to name a few.
The photographer will participate in a group show at Bethlehem House Contemporary Art Gallery from November 6, to January 11, at 459 Main Street, Bethlehem, PA. An opening reception in conjunction with Olympus InVision, is slated for Thursday, November 6, 6 to 9 pm. A closing party is planned for Saturday, January 10, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Meanwhile, a solo exhibit of Shillea's work titled, "Falling Angels" will be held at Bethlehem House Studio 945, located at 945 Bethlehem Drive, Bethlehem, Pa, 18017 during the month of November. An opening reception at Studio 945 is scheduled for Friday, November 14, 6 to 8 p.m.
Bethlehem House Contemporary Art Gallery opened to rave reviews in July 2014, and has been featured in The Morning Call, PBS-WLVT, in addition to local, national and international art news publications.
