Bring the Heat 4th Annual North Hunterdon Chili Cook-off Sponsored by the Newcomers Club; The Knights of Columbus, Council 6245; and the Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad. The event is Saturday, September 12 at the Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad, 48 Old Highway 22, Rt. 173, Clinton, NJ. Doors open at 4 pm. Tasting tickets are just $10 and children under 12 are free. Each ticket includes chili tasting, soda, coffee, and dessert. Beer will be for sale. Tickets for a cash raffle with five prizes will be sold, along with prizes from local merchants in a Tricky Tray. Partial proceeds will be donated to help support the Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad. Live music from the Wedding Crashers - a return from last year! Up twenty-five contestant slots are available and the entry fee is $25. Individual entries are welcome, as well as restaurants, caterers, and other foodservice businesses. Contestants must cook their chili in a certified kitchen and may be required to show a copy of the license. If a certified kitchen is not available, cooking must be done onsite at the Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad. Cooking grills will be provided. The grand prize of $200 will be awarded to the best chili, with additional cash prizes to the second and third place winners. There will also be a People’s Choice Award, decided by chili tasters. |

Tasting tickets will be sold in advance for $15 each through Wednesday, September 24. From September 25, onward tickets are $20 each. Children under 12 are free. Each ticket includes chili tasting, soda, coffee, and dessert. Beer will be for sale. Tickets for a cash raffle with five prizes will be sold, along with prizes from local merchants in a Tricky Tray.
