| The mission of the Alexandria Township School District is to achieve academic excellence through high quality instruction, a positive learning environment, and a strong partnership among staff members, family and community. We are committed to an inclusive educational program that recognizes individual differences and encourages each child to reach his or her potential. We believe that the desire for life-long learning, the development of positive character, and the development of a positive self-concept are essential outcomes of the school experience. The Alexandria Township School District contains two schools; the Lester D. Wilson School for grades kindergarten through third; and the Alexandria Middle School for grades four through eight. Alexandria Middle School educates students in grades 4th through 8th and provides a teamed environment for students as well as teachers. AMS is an environment that is transforming, as we speak, into a true middle school that meets the needs of every student, where he/she is in the learning process. Through extensive community support we are utilizing every avenue to develop the whole child as we recognize individual accomplishment. Over the next four years an extensive teacher-driven curriculum development process will assist us in creating life-long learners that are able to adapt to change and utilize technology to solve problems.
